Jump Down, Turn Around is a choral hoedown!  It is based on an American folk song attributed to Huddie "Lead Belly" Ledbetter.

 

The ensemble will love to sing the fast-paced lyrics while figures with rhythmic unison will help the singers learn it quickly.

 

The sopranos split but maintain close, chordal harmony and identical rhythm.

The piece ends with a rousing accelerando and (usually!) thunderous applause.
