Sleepers, Wake

J.S. Bach's cantata (1731) based on the hymn by Philipp Nicolai (1599) is arranged for hand bells.

This arrangement could be performed with voice (alto or bass) or used as a palette-cleanser in a Christmas or Advent performance with bells alone.

Unlike most hand bell music, it is written in four parts throughout, without 'filling in' additional notes.  When you hear it in this setting, the beauty of the original melody and Bach's harmonization comes to light.
